FICTION DOCTOR WHO BOOK
Fantom
Films are proud to reveal that Barry Letts's Who & Me
Memoir has been voted best non-fiction Doctor Who book
2009 by readers of the Doctor Who Magazine.
"Last year I had the great
privilege of publishing the Doctor Who Memoir - Who &
Me. Sadly Barry passed away in October 2009, before
seeing it in print, but I think the popularity of this
volume acts as a testament to his invaluable
contribution in shaping the series we know and love..."

GHOST STORIES FOR HAMMER
OUT!
In
November 2010, we are proud to announce that Fantom
Films will be publishing a collection of short Ghost
Stories in aid of the charity - Hammer Out.
To
celebrate the collection we are running a competition,
looking for a new Ghost Story from an undiscovered
writer. The winning story will be published alongside
those from established writers and celebrities.
Hammer
Out was established in 2002 as a small fundraising group
to raise the awareness of brain tumours and the needs of
those affected by them. Hammer Out is now a registered
Charity. While continuing to support the original aims,
this has also given Hammer Out the opportunity to raise
funds for very specific purposes. One such project is to
establish support groups for people with brain tumours,
their families and carers.
100%
of the profits made from the publication of the book
will go to Hammer Out.
The
closing date for submissions is 1st August
2010; the only condition is that your story is between
5,000 and 7,000 words in length. Please email you short
stories to
hammerghosts@fantomfilms.co.uk. You will

NEW AUDIO: WAXING LYRICAL
Fantom
Films are proud to announce a new addition to our
release schedules - Waxing Lyrical - the story of
Madame Tussaud written and performed by Judith Paris.
Marie Tussaud was a remarkable
woman. She escaped the guillotine and survived the horrors of
the French revolution. She toured the towns of Britain for
thirty three hard years with her travelling wax cabinet,
fighting off competition against a background of fire, riot,
shipwreck and betrayal. She personified persistence, fortitude,
dedication and self belief. Why does every one know of her
exhibition but no one knows her story?
Judith has appeared
in many television roles, including the female alien Eldrad in
Doctor Who, and no less that
eight television and film projects with acclaimed director Ken Russell
including The Devils and
The Rainbow.
This one woman show -
currently performing at The Landor Theatre, London until
28th April 2010 will be released in May priced £7.99.

RARE DOCTOR WHO PHOTOS
FOUND!
Over a dozen
never before published colour photos from the filming of
the 1967 Doctor Who story
The Abominable Snowmen have been discovered, and will be
featured in the forthcoming limited edition version of
Deborah Watling's autobiography Daddy's Girl from
Fantom Publishing.
These photos are (c)
Deborah Watling and can not be reproduced without
written permission.
"It really was
an exciting find”, says co-writer Paul Ballard. "We were
trawling through the masses of documents, cuttings and
photos in the Watling family archive when we chanced
upon a huge box of holiday slides. One of the cases was
labelled very feintly as Dr.Who (Wales)."
“There are a
selection of photos featuring the cast – including
Debbie’s father Jack Watling, and co-stars Patrick
Troughton and Frazer Hines – and crew filming with the
dreaded Yeti up Snowdonia."
Also contained
in the limited edition hard back will be a treatment for
a series entitled
House of Watling. This comedy was due to be
launched by ITV in the early eighties and would have
seen the whole family playing themselves in a variety of
real life situations. This is the first time the full
premise will be made available to the public.
The book will be launched at
the Utopia event at Heythrop Park on the weekend on
15-16 May. You can find out more information about the
book and pre-order
here.
